FRIENDS' Testimony:
Most of proposed changes to the fenestration at the upper levels of 737 Park Avenue, including the introduction of a window type that departs from the master plan, are appropriate due to their limited visibility from the street. However, the assemblage of the central penthouse windows on the Park Avenue elevation disrupts the regularized window pattern of this Classically-influenced Art Deco design. As a significant, visible feature, we ask the Commission to work with the applicant in preserving this rhythm of openings.
