FRIENDS' Testimony:
FRIENDS applauds the applicant for their effort in preserving 45 East 65th street. We were heartened to hear not only of the applicant’s commitment to the extensive restoration of the front façade and the removal of the rear additions, but also their care in dealing with their neighbors. We are always glad to see a building return to its original use, as well as the voluntary removal of additional bulk from the rear façade increasing light and air for the interior courtyard. We further appreciate the design of the new façade, which is an appropriate secondary elevation and refers to the historic building fabric for material selection.
The Preservation Committee at FRIENDS enthusiastically supports the application.
