In this instance the Preservation Committee finds the raised rooftop and canopy to be a minimalist solution and a minor obstruction, so we can support this application. However, FRIENDS will continue to rigorously monitor applications for penthouse enlargements which could very easily veer into the domain of the inappropriate depending on the applicants’ design approach.
