CB8 Hearing: 02/13/12
LPC Hearing: 04/10/12 (Approved with modifications)

FRIENDS' Testimony:

The proposed rear yard addition at 222 East 62nd Street is too bulky, overwhelming this modest row house and negatively impacting the block’s “donut.” Although the brickwork on the fourth floor of the rear façade will be preserved, this proposal requires the demolition of a nearly-intact wall and the new design calls for an excessive amount of glazing. FRIENDS’ Preservation Committee requests that the Commission deny this application.
