FRIENDS' Testimony:

The proposed alterations to the base and areaway are modest, and do not detract from this simple yet elegant rowhouse. The new pediment and banding detail around the center door, as well as the slight widening of the opening, will serve to distinguish this door as the main entry. While the expansion of areaways and new fences are often problematic, because this areaway will not extend past its neighbor and the height of the fence will remain the same as the existing handrail, we find this part of the application to be appropriate. Overall, FRIENDS supports this application.
