FRIENDS' Testimony:
FRIENDS commends the simple, efficient, and unobtrusive design of the lift, which provides barrier-free access to the Harkness Building while maintaining minimal intervention in the historic fabric and preserving the building’s character-defining features. However, we seek clarification on several points. Will the platform be equipped with sensors to ensure it operates only when a mobility device is properly positioned and secured? What additional safety features are planned? How will the system affect the flow of pedestrian traffic entering and exiting the building? Will there be visual or audible indicators to alert pedestrians when the lift is in operation?
