FRIENDS' Testimony:
103 East 91st Street is a quirky building, and our Preservation Committee appreciated that this proposed rooftop addition is unobtrusive and does not seek to compete with the building below. We are happy that the height of the addition will not be visible and will not exceed the height of the existing elevator addition, but we do think that the appearance of the addition at the rear could be improved if the windows could align more with the windows below. We are glad that the applicant is keeping the bay window at the rear elevation, and the changes to the ground floor windows are an improvement over the existing. Overall, FRIENDS supports this project.
