992 Madison Avenue - aka 25 East 77th Street
Schwartz & Gross

A neo-Italian Renaissance style apartment hotel building designed by Schwartz & Gross and built in 1926. Application is to extend a permit for the temporary installation of an artwork.
CB8 Hearing: 6/23/23 (Approved)
LPC Hearing: 7/18/23 (Approved)
FRIENDS’ Preservation Committee does not object to an extension of a permit for this artwork on the facade of 992 Madison Avenue. As a neon sign, it relates to several historic neon signs on the Upper East Side, and we appreciate its relatively modest proportions, as well as the fact that it is temporary and will not cause damage to the historic facade when removed.
