FRIENDS' Testimony:

The Preservation Committee at FRIENDS supports the reconstruction of the existing rooftop addition at 19 East 79th Street with more permanent and historically appropriate materials. The new chimney and more organized flues were also found to be a welcome change. However, the mirrors that are currently mounted on the face of the adjacent building at the roof deck level and read as cladding material. This distracting feature should be removed so that the mirrors are not visible from the street. With this change to the proposal FRIENDS can support approval of this application.
