FRIENDS' Testimony:

FRIENDS’ Preservation Committee commends the applicant for reintroducing the removed neo-Classical features on the main facade of this residence. The alterations proposed are in keeping with the neighborhood’s character and will create a more cohesive streetscape. However, FRIENDS takes issue with the expansion of the areaway. We urge the applicant to find an alternative solution for the areaway that does not include encroachment of the public sidewalk.

Finally, FRIENDS’s Preservation Committee appreciates the rear yard alterations to create a more cohesive look, while restoring the 30 feet rear yard. We believe that the new openings will not detract from the building and applaud the reintroduction of the dentilated cornice.
