Watch a recording of our online talk "City of Yes for Housing Opportunity: Impacts on Upper East & West Sides" by urban planner and zoning expert George Janes held on May 29. The event was co-sponsored by FRIENDS of the Upper East Side Historic Districts and Landmark West!
Under Mayor Adams' guidance, the New York City Department of City Planning has proposed a suite of zoning changes under the umbrella of “City of Yes.” The third phase of this initiative, Housing Opportunity, proposes zoning amendments to encourage and incentivize housing creation and address the affordability crisis in the city. George Janes's presentation covered both the scope of the "City of Yes for Housing Opportunity" and the specific impacts it would have on the Upper East and Upper West Sides.
