Historic Yorkville Family Tour

Children and children at heart joined FRIENDS’ Director of Education Heidi Carey on June 5th for a fun, interactive family experience touring the sights and sounds of historic Yorkville. Together they embarked on a virtual walking tour of significant homes, tenement buildings, houses of worship, and stores that reflect the historic presence of German, Hungarian, and Czech immigrants on the Upper East Side.

This 45-minute virtual tour is an adaptation of a lesson in our Yorkville Immigration Education Program taught at schools on the Upper East Side and East Harlem. Enjoy the recorded program below!

This program was supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
