FRIENDS' Testimony:

FRIENDS Preservation Committee finds the installation of the planter, which we feel is really more of a Juliette balcony, perplexing, if not outright objectionable. As the proposed “planter” will match the design and material of the existing row on the ninth floor of 2 East 67th Street, its physical appearance does not appear inappropriate. However, its location on the building’s secondary façade on the sixth floor creates a random effect which will be further accentuated by the proposed down lighting. FRIENDS would prefer that the applicant and the Commission take the time to consider whether this addition is truly necessary before proceeding.
