FRIENDS' Testimony:
1082 Park Avenue is a unique and stunning building within the Park Avenue Historic District that is a remnant from a time period of enormous growth and change on upper Park Avenue. FRIENDS’ Preservation Committee supports the extension of the rooftop greenhouse to the north that will fill the existing “gap” in the windows currently visible over the parapet at the primary façade. We feel it will create a more unified appearance as viewed from multiple vantages on Park Avenue. While invisible, we also appreciate that the overall glazed area on the rear elevation of the expanded addition will be reduced. FRIENDS of the Upper East Side supports this proposal and recommends approval of the application.
