FRIENDS' Testimony:

While FRIENDS does not object to the proposed modification of the existing 10th-story window opening on the Fifth Avenue façade to align with the non-original fenestration of the 7th, 8th, and 10th floors on Line B, we believe that a more comprehensive strategy is imperative for the remainder of the building. We regret that the fenestration of this distinguished Carpenter design currently exhibits a disparate array of sizes and a mix of single and double-panel windows, alterations that predate the Historic District designation in 1993. This can be rectified through the establishment of a comprehensive window master plan. Such a plan should serve as a guiding framework for all future alterations, thereby ensuring a unified aesthetic and the restoration of the original symmetry and rhythm as initially conceived by Carpenter.
