After an embattled implementation process and a false start, the proposed 32-ft-tall Link5G towers on the Upper East Side continue to undergo Section 106 review of the National Historic Preservation Act. Although most of the proposed locations have been rejected by the NY State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) due to their adverse effects on Historic Districts and nearby landmarks, the City's franchisee, CityBridge, has proposed 5 new sites on the Upper East Side in recent weeks. These are:
