This new walking tour with FRIENDS and architectural historian Matt Postal examines the far East 80s and 90s.  Heading east from Second Avenue, we’ll discover hidden gems in and around the (new) mayor’s residence in Carl Schurz Park, including late 19th century apartment houses that recall Yorkville’s German roots, a 1929 home for the “aged,” an almost block-long garden apartment complex, and a unique parabolic arched structure that once produced acres of asphalt to upgrade city streets.
