A modified neo-Spanish Renaissance style residence altered by Pleasants Pennington in 1926-27, from what was originally a Beaux Arts style residence designed by Henry Rutgers Marshall and built in 1900-01. Application is to alter the primary and secondary façades, expand a rooftop addition, and construct a rear yard addition.

FRIEND'S Testimony:
FRIENDS Preservation Committee can support this application. We believe that restoring the façade to a modified version of its handsome 1901 Beaux Arts condition is appropriate in this context, although we acknowledge the appeal of the building's neo-Spanish Renaissance phase that existed for almost a century. We commend the client for preserving some of the interior elements from this phase, such as the diamond pattern-stained glass, which will remain on the third-floor rear windows.
