FRIENDS' Testimony:
Our previous comments about the window master plan at 925 Park Avenue are underscored by this application. 950 Park Avenue is a prime example of how a seemingly minor change can have a detrimental effect on both the building and the district.
The wood-framed divided light windows in place at this unit are the last remaining historic windows on the building, and if they need to be changed, they should be changed in-kind. Further, a master plan for window replacement should be instituted for this building that specifies divided light, wood-framed windows that match the historic 8-over-8 configuration and profile.
The Preservation Committee at FRIENDS requests that the Commission deny the application.
