FRIENDS' Testimony:
821 Park Avenue is a rare example of a Renaissance Revival tenement building on Park Avenue, noted for its distinctive architectural features recognized by the Historic Districts Council’s Six to Celebrate program. FRIENDS appreciates the preservation of this rare building and supports the proposed storefront reconfiguration. We find the color palette and materials to be contextually appropriate and a clear improvement over the existing, deteriorated storefront. However, we strongly recommend the removal of the single step in the entry to ensure that the new storefront is fully accessible.
