FRIENDS' Testimony:

FRIENDS welcomes a new storefront on this corner. While the proposed storefront design, with its brass surround header and black painted metal grilled footer, matches the existing storefront on the other corner of the 68th Street façade and Retail 2 on Madison Avenue, FRIENDS’ Preservation Committee finds it visually disconnected from the same store's storefront on the Madison Avenue façade. This creates incongruity in the building's retail storefront composition. Therefore, we urge the applicant to consider alternative designs for the two Retail 1 storefronts that better complement each other and create a more visually cohesive base for the building.
