FRIENDS' Testimony:
FRIENDS can support this application for a rear yard addition. We believe the proposed design is a significant improvement over the existing condition, both in its volume and the use of brick surfaces. It also aligns well with the rear façade of the adjacent building. We can also support the proposed bulkhead, which will be clad in zinc standing seam metal panels. We find it appropriate since it is set back and will not be visible from any public thoroughfare.
FRIENDS also appreciates the applicant’s responsiveness to concerns raised by Community Board 8, particularly the revision that removed the 6-foot rear yard extension at the lower level, thereby preserving the open space within the rear yard and the central donut.
