FRIENDS' Testimony:

The proposed penthouse extension is, to FRIENDS, minimal in terms of visibility, although it will add bulk to an already-dense penthouse level. A number of buildings in the Expanded Carnegie Hill Historic District have suffered from inappropriate pre-designation alterations, including rooftop additions. While this building already has a large penthouse, this proposal’s use of matching stucco and a contextual height and scale are appropriate here. Because this extension will only be slightly visible from the street and park, FRIENDS can support this addition, although it should not be considered a precedent for others.
