FRIENDS' Testimony:

The green marble entry surround that is currently in place at 1080 Fifth Avenue is original to this 1961 apartment building and is a characteristic material and finish of this architectural type and style. The black grilles are also consistent with the black metal window frames throughout the rest of the building, many of which are also original. The applicant's reflective metal grilles and grey granite surround were therefore found to be inappropriate changes and our committee asks the Commission to deny this application.
