Yorkville wasn’t just a German, Hungarian and Czech club! One prominent market, that has been a Yorkville staple is the Ottomanelli Brothers. The store opened in 1900 by the current owners Grandfather, as time progressed the store began to expand to other parts of Manhattan but keeping its flagship store in Yorkville. The owners now fourth generation continue the tradition of serving its community. Writer Harper Lee was a regular at the market, getting a cup of black coffee and raisin scone every morning. But even if you aren’t a famous writer, the Ottomanelli Brothers welcome Yorkville with open arms.
