Explore the "heart of the Park" with FRIENDS, Landmark West!, and former Central Park Conservancy guide Catherine Fredman. From Inventor's Gate at Fifth Avenue and 72nd Street to Strawberry Fields at 72nd Street and Central Park West, we'll walk through "the heart of the Park" and learn the stories behind some of Central Park's greatest hits: the Model Boat Pond featured in Stuart Little, the Alice in Wonderland statue, Bethesda Terrace and its iconic fountain, the Lake, Strawberry Fields and, if we have time, the mammoth statue of Daniel Webster. Catherine has spent years sharing the history of Central Park and still finds new things to discover. Come spend a beautiful evening reveling in the Heart of the Park!
*Catherine Fredman was a volunteer tour guide with the Central Park Conservancy for twelve years. She has lived in New York for most of her life and continues to make new discoveries in the park.
